Improvements in audio and video quality

WhatsApp also announced the new MLow codec feature. The new function is supposed to improve noise and echo cancellation in calls made on mobile devices, and may be useful in noisy environments. The promise is that the sound will be clearer even with poor network connection or on older devices.

Another interesting point of the MLow codec is improving images in video calls. Depending on the messenger, the app will detect the user's connection speed and determine whether the video quality should be improved during the call or not.
