The moment WhatsApp stops being compatible with the OS version, users of these devices also lose access to updates, bug fixes, and technical support. Therefore, the operation of the application on the cell phone could be compromised.
According to Meta, the company responsible for WhatsApp, this measure aims to improve the security and efficiency of the tool. To achieve this, it is necessary to adapt to the technical capabilities that only modern devices can offer.
