Band confirmed, last Thursday, as this columnist from Splash said, that Fausto Silva will no longer be presenting his daily show on the station. However, the channel has not yet talked about the final departure of its presenter. Why?
This columnist found that Faustão, although he had already reported his desire to terminate his contract with the Band, had not yet signed his contract. The last program is expected to be recorded on the 30th, and the station will not announce the presenter’s departure until after the end of the contract is formalized.
According to sources in the column, there is still an expectation on the part of Band not to lose Fausto Silva. The management of the broadcaster will hold another meeting with the caller and want to present him with a project for a new attraction so that he will remain in the broadcaster.
However, people close to the presenter claim that he is determined to leave the Band, and that – despite evaluating proposals from other broadcasters – he intends to take the remainder of 2023, at least, to rest.
When contacted, Band declined to comment on the matter.
In a statement on Thursday, the broadcaster said: “By agreement with the ensemble, the presenter Fausto Silva will leave the daily program in the second semester. Upon leaving, Fausto will lead the ensemble’s nights with competence and professionalism for a year and a half.” Fausto in Band, “With over 700 hours of programming, 350 copies and the participation of the biggest names in Brazil’s artistic class, has brought joy, fun and information to millions of Brazilian families. Band will continue to invest in this entertainment range with daily attractions and news to be announced soon” .
The end of Faustau’s band
As presented in this column, the presenter interrupted a recording yesterday afternoon to meet with the program management. At the meeting, Fausto’s departure from the daily program was reported and it was indicated that João Guilherme Silva and Ann Lottermann would remain in charge of the attraction until July, when a new program would occupy the schedule. Replays can also be viewed throughout the week.
On his second pass through the Band, Faustão even gave up his salary and pumped money out of his own pocket to maintain the structure he wanted in the Band – Pizzaria do Faustão, Dança das Feras, and others.
The column also learned that it is not new for Faustão to hear from his friends on the field that the best option is to end the daily program and resume it only on Sundays, as he has stayed for more than 30 years at Globo.
