Windows 11 Officially Launched Android App and Game Emulator

The Windows subsystem for Android has reached version 1.0 and is now ready for the official release. WSA (Windows Subsystem for Android) is a kind of original Windows 11 emulator that lets you run Android apps downloaded from the Amazon Appstore.

Announced by the Partnership Development Manager at MicrosoftCorey Hendrickson, through his official profile at Twitter. Version 1 does not bring any new features, but it fixes old bugs and improves stability for playing APK files.

What is a WSA?

According to Hendrixson, the Amazon store offers more than 50,000 software and games to run on PC without difficulty – That number was only 20,000 a little over a month ago. It works similarly to mobile phones: you log into the store, choose what you want and click the install button. You must have both a WSA and an Amazon store to make things work.

It works like mobile devices, with the difference that you’ll be using a physical mouse and keyboard instead of touching the screen. This can be great for some games and social media because typing on the keyboard is easier. In August, Microsoft made improvements to Allow gamepads and keyboards to be used in Android games running on Windows 11.

The Android subsystem has been still in the making for the past few months. Now, with the arrival of Android 13 on mobile devices, the emulator is probably more than ever set to run mobile solutions on PC.

Every developer needs to modify their apps if they want to run them on Microsoft’s WSA platform. It seems to be a very fruitful task, given that the Windows user base is huge all over the world.
