The United Kingdom, made up of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, is set to host the Euro 2028 edition alongside Ireland.. The application deadline ends next Wednesday, but so far no other country has volunteered.

The official British-Irish dossier has been handed over to UEFA so far. If the scenario remains unchanged until the end of Wednesday, the headquarters confirmation process can be accelerated. The UEFA Executive Committee is expected to announce the decision on April 7.

Other interested countries withdrew from touching the process after the United Kingdom and neighboring countries received support from UEFA. Before that, the British government had expressed its desire to host the 2030 World Cup, but the English Football Association conducted a study indicating that there were “doubts” in this proposal.

The last edition of Euro 2020 (which was held in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic) was held in 11 cities in 11 different countries. The next will be in 2024, in Germany.
