YouTuber and boxer Logan Paul discovered that the set of “Pokemon” cards for which he had paid 3.5 million US dollars (20 million Brazilian reals) were fake. The investment made by the 26-year-old influencer at the end of 2021 caused a stir on social media for being one of the largest sums ever spent on collectible cards in history.
It was Paul himself who announced the discovery that the cards were fake, in a video just shared on his YouTube account (watch it at the end of the text). The video shows Paul opening the sealed letter box among the experts he has hired to analyze the originality of the collectibles.

The video is titled “I Lost $3,500,000 on Fake Pokemon Cards” and shows the card collector from whom Paul bought the piece locked in cards. The person named Matt paid $2.7 million for the unopened fund of cards and sold it to Paul with a promise to return the money if the cards turned out to be counterfeit.
“We all cheated” says one of Paul’s assistants when he sees that the cards in the sealed box were from characters from the game and the cartoon franchise GIJoe, not Pokémon.

“It is the biggest scam in the entire history of” Pokémon “, regrets one of the specialists hired by Paul to analyze the materials he obtained.
“Damn GI Joe, man,” said one YouTuber aide amid disappointment with the discovery. With his hand covering his face for most of the video, Paul finally said, “GI Joe!” This is the worst part. However, he laughs then. It should be noted that Paul’s fortune is estimated at 35 million US dollars, which is more than 193 million Omani riyals.
“I am a very positive person, I always try to see the positive side, but it is all very difficult,” Paul laments in another excerpt. The video ends and shows the “GI Joe” cards in the sealed box where the “Pokémon” cards were supposed to be. The YouTube user does not say whether the individual who bought the cards can refund them.

Today with 23.3 million YouTube subscribers, Paul is increasingly focusing on his career as a professional boxer. He fought three fights under his belt, the last of which was a confrontation with the legendary Floyd Mayweather, considered one of the greatest boxers of all time. The match between the two ended in a draw.
